The fourth-generation Crown Majesta which almost top spec of crown,received a complete redesign.The Crown Majesta replaced the Celsior, despite objections from Japanese customers. It introduced the first Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) integrated vehicle handling and software control system and radar adaptive cruise control with low-speed tracking function.The engine was upgraded to the 3UZ-FE with 224 kW (300 hp) and 441 N·m (325 lb·ft) of torque. It has an aluminum engine block and aluminum DOHC cylinder heads. It uses SEFI fuel injection, has 4 valves per cylinder with VVT-i, shared with the Lexus LS.

The transmission was upgraded to a 6-speed, rear curtain airbags were added to improve safety. Enhancements were made to the interior of the vehicle, including a rear-view camera and parking assistance technology.
